Winter is Coming. Untouched Snow, Unforgettable Moments

Every year, I feel it the same way. All it takes is a glance at the peaks of the Aosta Valley, when at the end of August the first dustings of snow settle gently on the glaciers and couloirs. That’s the sign: winter is coming, and with it the irresistible call of the mountains.

For those who love skiing, freeride, or ski mountaineering, the wait is a mix of excitement and impatience. The craving to carve on untouched snow, to climb couloir and descend pristine slopes, is something we carry with us all summer long. And now, as the summits turn white, the desire to go becomes impossible to ignore.

The ritual is always the same: bring out the skis, tune them, check the gear, buy what’s missing. And above all, review safety practices. For us professionals, but also for passionate skiers, it’s never too much—because the mountain rewards those who respect it.
But beyond the technique, beyond the lines and the descents, there’s something more. In winter, the mountains are the place where you can truly recharge. Where the noise of everyday life fades away and what remains is only the breath, the snow under your feet, the sunlight breaking through the peaks. This is the philosophy of Point Zero: starting from the very first step, from zero, to live experiences that are not just about sport, but about emotion and awareness.

Whether it’s freeride, ski touring, or climbing snowy ridges, the real privilege is coming back home with your eyes full of images, your legs tired but light, and your heart stronger. And when the day is over, the alpine huts and lodges become part of the adventure: a warm meal, a fire crackling, laughter shared.
Winter is coming. And we, mountain guides and companions, are ready to set out with you. From point zero, to the next summit.
